Vitamin D Deficiency
Vitamin D Deficiency is a common problem affecting a number of people these days. Lack of Vitamin D is the major cause behind various problems ranging from weakening of bones to skin disorders, diabetes etc. Though, we can get it naturally from sunlight, but our predominantly indoor lifestyle and high level of pollution hampers us from getting it naturally. This is the reason why its deficiency is so prevalent. Most vulnerable are the newborns and growing children as they have a high body requiment in growing years. Also it has been found that babies born to mother with Vitamin D deficiency are found to be deficiency in Vitamin D too. So, it is important, especially for women and children to maintain a healthy level of Vitamin D. American Academy of Pediatrics also recommends that all breast fed newborns should receive 400 IU of Vitamin D supplement daily.
